Thank you for your interest in Modern Flight. Chief Pilot John Andersen has dedicated his life to flight safety and instruction. Starting off as a CFI and later becoming a pilot for a part 135 freight operator flying BE99’s, John eventually found his way to the majors with UPS. At UPS, John excelled as an instructor in the UPS Training Center and was both a simulator and aircraft check/training Instructor. John always used what was learned from line operations to create practical simulator scenarios that enhanced airline and flight crew safety. As a Chief pilot and line instructor/check airman, John continued to work with the Training Center and FAA to ensure that potential safety issues experienced in operations were adequately evaluated, communicated, and incorporated into training.
Along with a CFII and MEI rating, John holds a Master’s Degree in Aviation from Embry-Riddle University along with a Doctorate in Business Administration. John was the Chair and Chief Instructor of San Diego Christian College (SDCC.edu) Aviation program and he also teaches aviation courses for several University Aviation programs along with being an “FAA Safety Team (FAAST) CFI facilitator. These opportunities have enabled John to continue his passion of helping pilots achieve their professional goals both in the classroom and aircraft.
We hope you will allow us the opportunity to assist you in achieving your aviation goals.
“Flight safety is all about “relentless professionalism” in everything we do on every flight. All the aircraft experience in the world is of little value if don’t do the basics and pay attention to the details.”
